Dream it.
Sonia took her first beginners yoga course in 1995 when she was 18 years old and remembers falling asleep in savasana every single time!
During University years, and overseas backpacking, a spiritual longing lovingly flourished. Motherhood and building a home sent roots down in beautiful Denmark in 2007. At this time yoga became a regular practice, a passion and going beyond a physical exercise, yoga became a 'blue-print' for living a vital and centred life.
Sonia has been facilitating regular yoga classes in Denmark since 2015.
With ongoing mentorship in Iyengar Yoga with Kellie Brett at MYoga in Fremantle.
Sonia is devoted to lifelong learning. Inspired by Taoism, poetry, ritual process and women's cycles. And her two greatest teachers, her children.
The dream of owning a dedicated space to teach yoga in Denmark was realised in 2018, opening Denmark Yoga Centre

What is Iyengar Yoga?
Iyengar yoga is a form of hatha yoga that emphasises precision and alignment in the practice of asanas (postures). Founded by B.K.S. Iyengar, this style has gained worldwide popularity due to its comprehensive approach and accessibility for all levels, including beginners and those with physical limitations.
One of the key features of Iyengar yoga is the use of props such as bricks, straps, blankets, and bolsters. These tools help practitioners achieve correct alignment and deepen their experience of the poses, making it easier to maintain them for longer periods. This is particularly beneficial for those who may struggle with flexibility or strength, allowing everyone to participate and enjoy the benefits of yoga.
Classes typically begin with a gentle warm-up before moving into standing poses, inversions, and seated postures. The methodical approach encourages practitioners to develop a greater awareness of their bodies, fostering both physical and mental stability.
“It gifted me so much more than a beginners understanding of Iyengar Yoga - it was a safe container for connection with other women which you held so gracefully and honestly”
